Apple has lately been granted a copyright that mentions at features that could be launched in next iPhone models and that could take these devices nearer to the Samsung Galaxy S7 and its descendants. Cupertino has made a “liquid resistance acoustic device,” which is, in real meaning, a water-resistant speaker port that will make the iPhone completely water-resistant.
The technology at the back this new speaker isn’t the most difficult one and the patent description (via AI) gives us with a closer look at how it will work. “An audio port of audio device is enclosed with a net and/or other composition that opposes entrance of liquid and/or other materials into the audio device. Openings of housing that are alienated by an umbrella section are attached to the acoustic port in such a way that the umbrella section possibly will cover the acoustic port.”
“Through this technique, when fluid enters one or more of the gaps, the umbrella section could direct the liquid away from the mesh in such a manner that force from the liquid upon the mesh may be abridged. As such, possible harm to the mesh and/or inner acoustic device components could be lessened. In few cases, the openings might be covered with an extra mesh. Such extra mesh may further decrease the pressure of entering fluid on the mesh covering the audio port of the audio device.”
Is waterproofing launching next year? Without an uncertainty, manufacturing the iPhone water-resistant should be on Apple’s precedence list for future models, particularly because competition has already started investing in this way and Cupertino is almost losing ground. Reports claimed that the iPhone 7 could feature some sort of waterproofing, but the latest revelations have given absolutely no information in this regard.
So Apple has either decided to bring this upgrade to the next models or the company on no account intended to apply it on this year’s iPhone in the very first place. The 2017 iPhone, however, has more chances to be lauched with waterproofing, generally because it’s anticipated to be a spectacular renovate of the current-generation model.
Apple therefore wishes to celebrate 10 years from the first iPhone in style, so it’s supposedly working on an absolute change that would include an all-screen design with zero bezels and a Touch ID and FaceTime camera incorporated directly into the display. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, mostly referred to as the iPhone killer merely because it drives people off iOS and shifts them on Android, is already water-resistant, so the faster Apple implements such features into the iPhone, the better for its sales.
