She said instead of the current format which will see President Mahama go head-to-head against the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s Nana Akufo-Addo, the IEA should structure the debate such that opposition presidential candidates can debate each other and the winner will face the president in the final debate, according to a report by Ghanapoliticsonline.com.
According to her, the current format proves that the IEA is not a credible organisation.
“If they are credible, they should be sensible enough to know that John Mahama is our president, therefore, they the IEA shouldn’t be making such suggestions,” she was quoted as saying.
Madam Akua Donkor said she was ready to debate Akufo-Addo if the IEA restructured the debate to accommodate other presidential candidates, according to the report.
“I am ready to debate Nana Addo and I want the IEA to create the platform for Nana Addo and I,” She said.
