Radio and TV presenter, Deloris Frimpong Manso popularly known as Delay, has revealed that it was her childhood dream to be like Grace Omaboe and Oprah Winfrey. Oprah Gail Winfrey is an American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist.

Grace Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono is one of Ghana’s finest veterans in the movie industry. She made waves in the 80s and 90s for her role in Obra drama series and some movies, obviously when Delay was very young.


Maame Dokono also played a storyteller in ‘By the Fireside’ which was popular in the early 2000s. In an Instagram post on Thursday, Delay posted a photo of her with the message “At the age of 6, I wanted to be Maame Dokono, at seven I wanted to be Oprah Winfrey. And my ambition has been growing steadily ever since.”

Delay, who is also a businesswoman and producer of Afia Schwarzenegger and The Delay Show, is currently producing her latest series, Cocoa Brown. Cocoa Brown drama series is based on the true life story of Delay, with insights into her early days in broadcasting and the challenges she faced.

The series stars Ahuofe Patri for the lead role, Akofa Edjeani Asiedu, Moesha Boduong, Shatta Michy, Caroline Sampson, D-Black, Blaq Boy, Choirmaster Eugene Baah, Evelyn Addo (of Home Sweet Home fame), among others.



Cocoa Brown is set to premiere on Viasat1 very soon.
