1. The usual fierce disco lighting system & flamboyance of the stage depicts too much ‘bling bling’ & synthetic China made.
2. The whole show lacks cultural diversity & you only feel or hear anything local only when its highlife & gospel nominees time.
3. The criteria for selecting nominees are too uptight within the confines of petty moral dictates.
4. The hosts seem too rigid to even dare derail from their well rehearsed ‘lafa accent’, let alone chip in twi occasionally in their presentation.
5. Event organisers continuous beef with certain artists & past blunders, still gives them obstinate outlook & sketchy ethically.
6. The much fixated on Artist of the year award, seems too predictable & vulnerable to scheming.
7. VGMA seems skewed towards youthful trends than being appealing collectively.
8. Charter House has consistently shown interest establishing incestuous relationship with Nigerian(artists) market than exploring other lucrative African markets.
9. Empty seats within the audience of this year’s show reinforce the perception that it now jaded and the hyped……
10. After 17yrs, VGMA is still in transition in getting institutionalized. It has become an occasion for on heat perverts & voyeurs to peep on turgid cleavages, spotless & sleek legs, nicely held backside in dress and dusty Red Carpet for wannabe Grammy or Brits imposters !
