Famous Gospel artist, Patience Nyarko, who is nominee for the categories Gospel Artist of the Year and Gospel Song of the Year for annual VGMA 2016 has clowned that if she fails to pick an award at the music awards, she will be “collapsed”. VGMAs are slated to take place at Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on May 7th, 2016.


The singer of hit ‘Wafom Kwan’ made this statement on Saturday April 30, in Entertainment Capital show on Accra based radio station.

“If I not able to pick an award I will collapse”, she questioned DJ Premier, host of the show ‘You can decide is there any gospel song that has been ruling and getting more air play than my song ‘Wafom Kwan’?” “…So to whom you are going to give this award, if you give it to any other artist, I am telling you, it will be a big mistake.”

Other contestants in the category of the Gospel Song of the Year award include SP Kofi Sarpong for hit single ‘Hour by Hour’, Mary Owusu for ‘Wo Nkwa W? Awurade’, Kofi Gyan for Yoboyo’, Obaapa Christie for ‘Hy?br? Sesafo?’, and Nicholas Omane Acheampong for song ‘Aporsor’.

In the category of Gospel Artist of the Year award, Patience Nyarko faces very tough competition from Joe Mettle, Obaapa Christie, SP Kofi Sarpong, Nicholas Omane-Acheampong and Preachers.
