Kotoko players have donated GHC 200 to their injured teammate Jackson Owusu at his residence in Kumasi. The money was realized from the players’ individual contributions from the money given them by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II during their recent visit to the Manhyia Palace.

The Kotoko Life Patron engaged the players individually at the inner chamber of the Palace during the visit.

He gave each player GHC 400 after the meeting which he called as part of his effort to unravel the reasons for the team’s poor results. Owusu, though registered as part of the 2015/16 season, is not with the playing body since he is nursing a long term injury.

But, skipper of the side, Amos Frimpong, told Asantekotokosc.com that, they could not enjoy the Asantehene’s benevolence alone hence their decision to give him a part of it.

“Jackson Owusu is a colleague who could not be part of that rare visit and meeting,’ he said.

“He would have gone there with us if not for the fact that he is injured. We gave him the money so he would feel like he went with us.

“This is because though he is not with us in person, we feel his presence around us wherever we go or play.”
