Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, Shatta Wale has admitted that he loves it when people refer to him as a local champion musician. To people who refer to him as such, he only plays shows here in Ghana but don’t go on International tours especially when throughout last year and through to this year Sarkodie and Stonebwoy have been touring the International countries and are still not back in Ghana.

According to the 'Am Ok' hit singer, he loves the tag local champion because even with the local champion, he is the only musician in Ghana who has 4 cars and has built 2 houses.

When asked by Sammy Flex on Pluzz Fm how he feels like when he’s been referred to as a local champion, he answered, “I love it, local champion but I’m the only musician who has 4 cars and has built two houses, I love the tag local champion.”

He went ahead to threw some few jabs, he said, “To those musicians you’ve been seeing going on tours, they don’t make any money when they go out there. They are just living a lie life more or less faking to the fans. The local champion is making money way more than the so called international acts. Even in Ghana, I take 150 million, 200 million and even more. They go out there and don’t even make anything close to the amounts I take here per show, so why should i worry myself being referred to as a local champion.” he asked

Shatta Wale is set to launch his After the Storm album come this Friday.
